It's been a while since I've calibrated a monitor and I'm having a real brain fog moment today. If I calibrate my new monitor with my SpyderX/DisplayCal and load the profile, do I then have to change any settings on the monitor OSD?

Usually the calibration process should guide you through optimal osd settings first before it does the profiling. That’s optimal to a sure you’re not asking the profile corrections to do “too much” of the work as it were.

Only if your monitor has any auto controls and eco modes etc. Switch all of them off.

The first part of most calibration software gets you to adjust brightness to match whatever nits you are calibrating it too and the RGB channels so they are all correct.

Then after that its just the ICC profile when done.

Thanks all, the monitor is going back though as had a dead pixel right in front of me. Replacement coming tomorrow so I'll calibrate it then.

Even though I only had the new IPS monitor for a day, going back to my TN panel is showing how washed out the colours are compared to it. Fingers crossed no dead pixels or anything else with the replacement.
