No Chance. Sure its heavy but the bucket wasn't particularly high and shes actually tensing her neck with her head down at the point of impact - it would have hurt like crazy but you cant break your neck from something like that , the body isnt made of twigs.

EDIT: Confirmed alive, heres the original Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYkTliRG3mU where she is commenting about people thinking she is dead.

I think it's great that it went viral.. but the problem is a lot of people are missing the point of the whole challenge(if you can call it that) ! I see a lot of "I challenge this and that by dadada.. " but nothing about donating etc? which was the whole point of it, no?

meh

For those saying most aren't donating, look at the figures
The Ice Bucket Challenge, which has been raising funds and awareness for ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) while blowing up your social media feeds, broke all-time daily donation records for the second day in a row Tuesday, raising $8.6 million overnight for The ALS Association. Between July 29 and August 20, the grand total now sits at $31.5 million in donations to The ALS Association, and that number will likely only continue to grow. Those numbers are compared to $1.9 million raised during the same time period last year.

Als is know well known where before it wasn't. My Facebook feed never has these things on it. Yet with this challenge there's about 6, everyone off them has mentioned als and said they've donated?

It's an utter success both for awareness and funds.

Baa baa, look at the sleep.

It's a great study into modern day marketing, that's for sure.

I started quite the argument in my social circle by asking people why they were actually doing it. No one can answer, most responses were "because I've been nominated" yes but why actually do it? What is the purpose? "Because I've been nominated" at this point I may have resorted to expletives whilst bashing myself unconscious off a wall.

Most people blindly follow a "craze" without any knowledge of the purpose behind it or if there even is a purpose, they just form an orderly queue and follow the sheep infront. When I asked them if they would stick a knife through their hand if I nominated them they all said no, WELL THEN WHY POUR A BUCKET OF ICE OVER YOUR HEAD BECAUSE SOMEONE ASKED YOU RETARD!?

People are idiots, especially in a crowd and I'm sure more than a few marketing experts/psychologists will be watching this unfolding idiocy with glee.

For the record, before someone calls me a spoilsport and blabs about charity, I made a donation to charity but I'm not pouring stuff over my head because the internet tells me I must.

It's nice that people have been made aware of this but unfortunately a lot of it now just seems to be people trying to out do each other on the videos and nothing to do with donating or actually knowing what the disease is.

I've seen quite a few people donating to macmillan instead?

I am not going to give in to peer pressure..plenty of people at work have nominated me

however it me who chooses what and when I donate to charity..not an internet fad

half the people doing this now have no idea why they are doing it

It's just a collective laugh for people. A bit of fun. It's fair enough I say.

Not that I've watched any, but I'm just a miserable git.
