Years ago I went on an ice driving course at Zandvoort in Holland. It was a cracking day out and well worth the money as it did in fact teach me quite a bit about safe driving in slippery situations.
Now my wife has recently started driving the UK but she's not familiar at all with slippery conditions so I thought it'd make a nice day out for us to go and take an ice driving course.
But where? The one I went to had loads of white paint (you know, the paint that turns into ice when it gets wet, as seen on almost every road we have) painted in various patterns and whatnot which were then hosed wet to simulate icy driving conditions. Ideally that's what I'd like.
Mercedes has a winter driving course, which looks a bit pants. It's £99 for an hour but covers mainly what to look out for, the most vehicle action you get is pulling off. On the course I went on, we had half a day in a car and that was some serious slippy slidey backwards / sideways action with an instructor in the car.
Anyone know of a decent place in the UK?
