Heading to Iceland in about weeks time for 4 days covering 600 miles in total ,

Any Tips or advice before I go ? I've hired 4 x 4 for the experience and all the accommodation is sorted , Just need to work out what places to go and Photograph with my Camera and Drone and what ones to avoid , Any information would be much appropriated , A lot of people have told me to avoid the Golden Circle as its crowds of people and not that great. The plan is to get up a good 2 hours before sunrise each day so I can capture the golden sun , I'm guessing because I'm going in Nov the suns going to always be pretty low in the sky this time of the year with it rising around 9am and going down around 4.30pm

Keep your camera inside a bag as much as possible when not in use to avoid it going through lots of warm>cold>warm cycles.

Take multiple batteries and have a way to charge them when out and about such as a power pack and a USB charger.

If you’re going to try to capture the Northern Lights, get a wide angle lens and remove the UV filter.

Unless they’re very bright, you might not be able to see them with the naked eye - just look for a faint glow and then take a 10 second exposure to heck if it’s actually the Northern Lights.

Keep a shower cap in your camera bag if you're worried about precipitation :D

This time of year surely much of the day is 'Golden Hour'? It's a trip I'd love to make myself - I'd like to go in both summer and winter and do a mix of wildlife and landscapes.

light is lovely pretty much all day in the winter but obviously peaks around sunset and sunrise. The crowds are much lower during the winter so the golden circle probably won't be as bad as you think the only thing I would say is chick in an nd filter for the waterfalls even if it's not you normal thing it will be very tempting and I was annoyed with myself for not packing one!
