Got a pair of siberia's last week , however I think they may be faulty , well at least the volume controller is.

Problem is this. Whatever is played through the headset , seems to be broadcast to the mic and recorded , although distorted. So you get a echo on vent or ts2. If you open soundrecorder and hit record while playing something through the headset it will be picked up.

First I thought it was just the mic was really sensitive and picking up whatever was coming out of them , how ever this is not the case. As even with the headset turned right down , so nothing at all is coming out it still happens. Also it will still happen if the mic has been switched off. So it simply appears to be mixing channels.

After messing about I have narrowed it down to something with the inline volume control. Without it plugged in , none of the above happens. Plug in back in and same stuff will happen again :(.

Tried on 3 different pcs , 2 different microphones and still the same thing , but only if the volume controller is plugged into the headset.

So I pretty sure it's faulty , just wondering if this is a known issue , anyone else had same sort of thing? , anything thing I can do other than get it replaced?.

Thanks :).

hmm , I've messed with sound options for ages now :(. The only thing that seems to kinda clear it is turning wave volume down , but it's still there only at a lower volume . Also I have tried it with everything muted except volume and wave on playback options , and mic on record options and still does it.

Also how come it don't do it without the volume controller plugged in? , it only happens with that , if that is unplugged there is no problem. Also surely if it's a playback prob , then the mic should not be picking up what is going to the headset when the mic is switched off  , yet it does. Just seems the sound is forcing itself onto the mic channel when the volume controller is there .Across 3 pc's aswell . I really don't want to send it back , but unless I'm missing something , I can't see how any options in windows can make the mic record whatever is coming out the headset.Even if it's switched off & why it only happens if the inline volume control is connected. Also spare headset is fine , no problems.

.

Thanks.
