Hello,
I have an Asus P5WDG2-WS Pro MB and I'm pretty happy with it. I need to change my storage subsystem scheme and I have seen lots of gurus inside here, so I'll glad if you could suggest me some changes.

I have an Asus P5WDG2-WS Pro MB and I'm pretty happy with it. I need to change my storage subsystem scheme and I have seen lots of gurus inside here, so I'll glad if you could suggest me some changes.
What I have:
- Adaptec 4805 SAS Controller + 2x 147GB 15k drives
- 1x Seagate 750GB SATA drive
- 2x Seagate 200GB SATA Drives
- Raid 0 of 60GB on SAS (Work!)
- Raid0 of 100GB on SAS (Gaming!)
- Raid1 of 50 GB on SAS (Data!)
- Not using my ICH7R or Marvell Raid features atm.
What I Need:
- 60GB partition for my "Work" OS installation.
- 80-100GB partition for my "Gaming" Windows installation.
- About 1-1.5TB (usable) for storage
What I'm searching for:
- 2xIntel X25-M G2 80GB Drives (for OS partitions): RAID0
- 3x750GB Sata disks: RAID5
- 200GB drives 'll go to the litter, more or less.
- SAS Controller is sold, so good bye to it.
So my main doubts are:
- Will it be possible to handle either raid arrays with the ICH7R? In terms of IOPS/throughput... Should I purchase ANOTHER pci-x/pci-express raid controller just to not flood the ICH7R?
- I've two pci-e 16x slots, one used by an Asus GTX285 (8x working speed) and another one by the SAS Controller (8x working speed). The SAS slot will be empty. Better for my cooling needs.
- Will the latest Intel firmware "trim on raids" feature work with my Raid0 on the ICH7R?
- Will the ICH7R be somehow a bottleneck on the system?
- Shall I forget about the Intel option (both brand on the SSD, and also about using the ICH7R) and go for a RevoDrive or Ibis?
Any comment is welcome.
Cheers!
