I planned an ickle shoot a couple weeks ago but only if the weather was good, but today I woke up aching all over and lost my voice! Semi overdosing with Lemsip and cough meds I went to pick them up and manage to take a couple of photos before the sun set.

I am going to regret it tomorrow! Early night tonight I think.

Oh, I bought a reflector this time :p

Amazing photos...

Your newer processing style lends itself very well to this type of shooting!

Hope you get better! (I am also feeling a bit under the weather and can sympathise with what you are going through! *cough, cough, splutter, sniff sniff, cough*)

I think shot 4 is the nicest, followed by number 3 (the two women lying donw). Shot 4 however has that branch in the top left that is in focus, it detracts from the model, which should be the main focus. I think it might benefit from some cropping. It has the most potential, since I think the light was rather special and you've achieved a nice exposure.

However the rest don't do anything for me. Not a big fan of the washed out sepia look. The look bland and lack contrast.

What on earth was going on in shot 2 in the second part of the shot. She looks like she is suffering the effects of a hangover rather than trying to look all sultry (if in fact this is what the intended look was meant to be).

Models are pretty enough, but they just look fed up.

Hope you don't mind a little critique but I don't think they're up to your usual amazing standard.

No.3 is my favourite, No.4 is okay but i do like the light.

Thanks for your input Andy, I do appreciate it, although I disagree with the lack of contrast comment. I have tried my usual processing and although it works, the end result has no feelings to it. The processing kind of goes with the model, whom has that "look" that you see. May be she was hung over, i dunno lol

I don't think it works, yes it is nice and sharp and vibrant but it isn't what I want, nor does anything for me here. I want that haze dreamy look, the vibrant colours makes it all feel like wide awake. (not what I am after)

and I actually preferred this one in B&W.

and have played with another processing.

Raymond, thanks for taking the comments as they were meant, critque rather than criticism (that has such a negative connotation nowadays).

You normal processing definately doesn't suit the shots as you've demonstrated - too vibrant.

The Black and white processing is nice, I think it has sort of a glow to it, which (I might be wrong) maybe what you were aiming for in the intial set? Sort of a warm golden glow?

The last one is nice everything directs you towards the model.

Had a little bit of a fiddle in LR3 - this is what I came up with

Very nice set Raymond. I really like the processing and agree that it suits these shots far better than the style you tend to use for wedding shots.

I really like Andy's take on the processing also, although it's slightly too warm for my liking.

What I'm mostly interested in is how you used the reflector in these shots, and how this use may have changed in relation to the angle of the sun. Would you mind sharing your approach to this?
