Hi all

For some reason unbeknownst to me, Windows 7 has decided to stop showing files that I have downloaded to my desktop on the desktop.

If I download a file to the desktop, when the download has finished nothing is there; no icon whatsoever.

If a then do a restart, the file appears on the desktop!

Am I not logging in as a user that has access to "all" of the desktop (even though there is only one user - Me)?

I have 'Show desktop icons' ticked.

Please help me because this is driving me round the bend.

Regards

It's reminding you that you're a bad person for downloading stuff to your desktop!

Is this bad? Serious question. Are PCs happier if downloads go straight into a folder?
If it is an installer or something I plan to use right away, I always save to the desktop. Once I've used it for the desired purpose, it gets moved to the proper folder (mainly the Recycle Bin).

Does this result in a clutter of icons on my desktop? Occassionally. But then I am forced to clean them up and realise that there are tasks I did not complete. :)
