hey all.
I'm having a bit of trouble setting up ICS to physically connect my X360 to my PC. The PC is wirelessly connected to the router a few floors below and the 360 is next to the PC, so it seemed the easy option.
I've got the PC connected to the internet via the inbuilt modem on the P5W DH mobo inside, and then a CAT5e patch cable to the 360. I can enable the cable connections fine (either of them) and I have once got the 360 to find the IP address but fail at the DNS check. Every time I try to enable ICS from network connections the wireless internet connection dies. It (wireless) still shows in the window and system tray as connected, healthy and working, but I have no internet/messenger access at all. Using the repair function doens't change this, and the only way I can get the internet back up is to disable ICS and manually disconnect and then reconnect to the wireless network.
Any ideas? I'm using windows firewall at the moment, but I've got zone alarm installed but not running. Will that make any difference?
