Hi i current have two pcs connected via crossover cable, i have ics enabled and it works fine apart from when i install a firewall.

I dont really feel safe with windows firewall.

Can any of you recommend a firewall which allows ics.

Ive already tried using zone alarm and outpost both dont work, or will work till a reboot then its all buggered again.

Thanks in Advance

Pointing out what firewall you're using might be useful.
Zone Alarm certainly will do it (though I've not used it so can't comment on how), Norton Personal definitely will (last version I used was years ago), and most others will too.

It'll get removed ;)

Well i have the newest zone alarm pro installed right now which ive been trying 2 days to try get it to work with ics, but im open to any other suggestion of a firewall as long as its not a memory hog like norton products.

My antivirus is nod32 so something lightweight like that would be ideal

I think ill just get a router, can anyone recommend me a good one in the £20 to £30 range, baring in mind my broadband modem is usb and not ethernet

Can't comment about routers in that price range, but if you've got ADSL, chuck the USB modem away and get an ADSL router (ie with a modem) - you've got more chance of finding poo behind a rocking horse than a router that'll take a USB modem these days.

If you've got adsl get a safecom samr-4114 (there's a better ADSL2/+ model but its more expensive) for about £20. If you've got cable they do one for about £15.
