I have just got a philips sound hub and I'd like to be able to stream media from my pc through it. My options are 1. Go buy a wireless adapter and connect it to my home network. 2. Go out and buy a long ethernet cable and connect it to my router (which connects wirelessly to my pc). 3. As I have a 2 metre ethernet cable already and the home theatre is next to my pc, work out a way to circumvent the router... That's where you guys come in.
I've plugged the ethernet cable between the two but the theatre isn't finding any networks. I seem to remember enabling ICS on my pc several years ago which let me connect my xbox360 to the net just by plugging an ethernet into my pc.
Would this work on Windows 7? and how could I enable it?
Please save me from having to take a stroll into town.
