Hi,

Looking to do a career change, and looking to do an online course over a period of time to give me the qualifications I need for IT help desk support.

I work on a 4 on 4 off basis, so should have plenty of spare time to learn.

Anyone used any of these company's atall? Looks a bit of a minefield if I'm honest, so would like to hear a few stories.

Many thanks

Oh thanks for that, didn't even realise there was a section for this.

Yeah, clued up with computers, and did a level 3 course in college, which was equivalent to 3 a levels in ICT.

If a mod could move this to the relevant section that would be great :)

Ok, instead of an online course. How about self studying for a Comptia or Microsoft certification?

With working 4 on and then 4 off you can fly through them easily.

I gather the A+ qualification is often the first one people go for and this is often recommended (free):

Aside from that you can probably just buy a relevant book and self study then pay for the exam yourself - traditional training providers are often a rip off.

If you want a broad selection of IT related courses online then check out edx, coursera and udacity
