Icy box usage ?

Hey just a quicky can i use my icy box to connect a dvd/rw or cd/rw drive and write/read cd's and dvd's, making an internal drive external

Yeah an internal device connected and powered by the icy box, was just thinking i may get a better internal device and use my icy box for both HDD and dvdr rather than buying an external dvd writer. As i use a laptop i could do with one multi device icy box does that make sense.?

I've got a 3.5 akasa at the mo but thought there may be something out there so i could have an external writer then change the drive making it external HD storage space. I.e. one box with changeable drives.
Soz im not to techie.

So its just an enclosure size issue, i shall go on the hunt cheers.
