I have an older version (with the silver bar and blue clip Icydock MB-455SPF 3bay/5drives) of the Icybox 3 in to 5 backplane enclosure. It has been working ok for about 2.5 years, and recently I had a drive fail. Tried to format it, and it just hung the system for 10 minutes before not being detected anymore etc. RMA's the drive, got a shiny new F3 back, plug it in and it shows up in disk management ok. I reboot, enable raid etc again and the raid bios doesnt detect it.

Turn raid off, and normal bios doesnt detect it. Windows also wont see it. Change cables around on mobo > box and prove its not the mobo port. Change the actual bay it is in (in the icy box) and it proves that the drive is fine. Just everything in one bay doesnt work properly. Anyone have any ideas as to what I could look for/try to fix? Pretty sure I cant RMA it anymore, and a new one is around £100, just to be able to fit one more drive in my system :/

Just run the drive in the computer as normal it you will still be able to have raid won't you just wont have the option to eject it quickly

I cant use it in my pc as normal, since I have no internal drive bays, due to all my internal water cooling. I hav ethis 3 to 5 thing, and another 5.25 to 3.5 convertor, along with my 3.5 bay (front panel connector area) being converted to dual 2.5) lol.

Edit: although I have just found out that in the USA at least it has 3 years warranty so Ive emailed them asking if its the same in the UK, in which case id get a replacement.

Emailed you about that 4 in 3 as well, since I am looking to replace my single bay converter, a fan controller, and a dvd drive with more hard drives.
