Carmack is obviously putting this out there hoping it flies under the radar with all the MW2 fuss.
IDtech 5 looks good but probably no great loss as ID are good at game engines but suck at creating actual game content historically and they are more about creating the game engine to licence & sell which means IDtech5 will most likely not support dedicated servers ever if the launch title is not planning on supporting any.
