I feel the urge to upgrade something on my PC but I don't know what :). My PC is stable and works great but I feel like I can get a little improvement somewhere. I use the computer for everyday stuff and playing mmo games.
My current specs are in my signature.
I don't really want to swap out my motherboard as I'm after a simple upgrade. I also like the fact the 5600g is quite economical and if I was to get another CPU I would like it to be similar in that department. I see the 5700x/5800x have higher TDP than my 5600g and I wondered if this would be an issue when it comes to electricity usage? Or is it only a factor when the CPU is running at peak performance?

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
Cheers

You don't need anything by the sounds of it. Pop the money in the bank until you can't play the game you want :)

But if you really want to, then probably easier to up your specs and what games you play.

You're probably right and I know I'm being daft but as I've not had anything new for a while I thought I'd ask the question :)
Main game is Lotro and my spec is up to date in my signature. Cheers

If you're happy with your CPU and graphics card, I'd get 32GB. Not really worth upgrading from the 5600G unless you get the 5800X3D.

Yeah I had thought about my upgrading memory as sometimes I see it up at about 12gb usage when I'm playing my favourite mmo Lotro. thanks

What you need to do is run a tool like MSI Afterburner and measure the usage of CPU and GPU in your favourite games at your favourite settings, and then crank the settings, then come back with the results for both.

I don't play them myself but I'm told that MMOs are CPU-heavy in which case an upgrade to a 5800X3D could do you well. But without actual data we can only guess.

Will do, thank you.

For gaming you'd benefit by upgrading to a 5800X3D, the 5600G isn't ideally suited to it especially in mmorpg games due to the limited L3 cache (16MB), which is half of a normal 5600x (32MB).

Yeah I was thinking the same. When I purchased the 5600g it was at the time GPU's were hard to get hold of and my thinking was if my GPU was to break/go faulty at least I'd be able to use the CPU's integrated graphics.
