How do you say it?

I have always pronounced it "EYE D".

'id', same as you'd pronounce 'solid'.

This is straight from the horse's mouth, too. That's how id software folks have always referred to their studio.

I always want to pronounce it eye dee but it is as Seanspeed said due to the name coming from the psychology id thing.

I've always thought pronouncing it 'id' was daft so I've always used 'eye d' despite the former being the 'official' pronunciation.

I called them eye D until I found out that it was a reference to the psychological id, since I've called them id.

A better one is the pronunciation of nvidia. I think most people have no clue how it's pronounced.

Used to call them ID years ago until I found it it was id. As for Nvidia doesn't the logo in some games pronounce it for you

You'd expect surprised then. Some people say nuh vid ee ah. It's en vid ee ah, and is etymologically based on the Latin word for jealousy, or to look upon with jealousy. This is why their logo is a green eye and their corporate colours are green.

Always read it as Eye-D.

If it's "Id" then why is the D a capital making is an acronym?
