I've got a customer who's having some issues we can't recreate
on our test machines.
I'm trying to ID the applications they have running based on a screenshot they've sent in.
I can see they have AVG, some automatic updates to be applied, quicktime and SQL server but can't ID the S with a red line through it and the three boxes on the right.

Can anyone tell me which programs they're for?

Cheers

Si
:)

in order..

Windows alert, Avg (i think), SQL by the look of it, Dont know, Quick time, and as said above VMware (i think)

*edit* didnt read all your post. all you want is the s :p

can't help you there... sorry

The red line thru the S would suggest that it's an anti-spyware app. That's all I can give you, I'm afraid.

Can you not ask the person who sent you the screenshot? :)
Could do but they're being thoroughly unhelpful so you lot are better! :p
They told me they had no other programs installed - fresh win xp and our product. Not entirely true...

Thanks for everyone's help.

It's actually a piece of software called "Safenet Softremote" and is for creating VPN connections (http://www.safenet-inc.com/products/vpn/softRemote.asp)

It's a horrible bit of software that we used to use here too.

edit: The red line through it signifies when it is disabled!

What is the problem your having with the machine as we used to get some very strange issues with Safenet and I may be able to help.

surely if you right-click on them, it will tell you something about the program running?

On a screenshot? :p

Thats like the guy who took a screenshot to show his dead pixel. ;)

It's pretty odd and probably specific to our program (which if I'm honest is more trouble than it's worth).

Our software is a database with a sql 2005 back end.
Users can dial a customer's phone number from the program if they have a telephony system in place.
If they move to another contact record in the database after calling a customer it deletes any data in the field with the cursor.

It's completely bizarre but I've not been able to recreate the problem
so I'm clutching at straws that it may be a conflict.

Sorry mate I think your right about it being specific to you.

The problems we used to have with it were always related to services, such as the IPSEC service stopping and refusing to start. We often had to re-install TCP/IP altogether on the machines.
