IDE Drives Not Recognised Problem

Hey all,

Right then, i've just moved my old hard drives from my XP2400+ system into my newish system (AMD 4000+). The main hard drive on this is a Western Digital 250GB SATA drive. I'm having a nightmare trying to get my old IDE HDD's and also my DVDRom & DVDR to be recognised. Nothing in the BIOS or windows is being recognised. The only thing that is there is this which shouldn't be there as i don't have one!!

Nothing i can find in the BIOS for turning IDE channels on.

Anyone help??

Asus A8V deluxe motherboard
1GB Geil Value PC3200
250GB SATA WD

trying to get 2 x WD IDE drives and 2 x IDE optical discs recognised, but nothing

Hi there try one thing at a time making sure your jumpers/cables are ok and in properly.If you have one end of the cable around wrong way your pc won`t recognize it.
Next up try a bios reset,you could also flash to latest here

Is the asus board new? hoping its not something more serious.
