IDE Optical Drive Problem

I just put all my stuff in a new case and now it won't auto detect the optical drives it was dodgy in my old case before I moved everything as I would plug in a HDD then the dvd drive wouldn't work. I've tried no end of cables.

How many Optical Drive's do you have.

Is the first one set as master & the second one as slave.
