IDE problem with DS4

When I try and use both IDE devices on my DS4 the system locks up. Anyone else having problems with IDE on this board. I have 2 DVD writes on the one cable?
 
Used 1 hard drive alongside 1 DVD drive and 2 DVD drives together on mine with no problems.

Ensure one drive is master and one slave.

Ive 2 HDD's on IDE and 2 on the purple Sata ports, works fine for me.
 
make sure both drives on the IDE cable are set to CS ( Cable Select ) or have them set correctly as Master/Slave

make sure you have Onboard Sata Mode = IDE
make sure both get detected correctly on POST ( check setup and make them set to auto to detect correctly )

Ensure both are powered up correctly and your PSU is able to give out enough power to the rest of the system. I often find that some PSU's can withstand the load on the 5V or 12 V rail, if they are old or low powered
