IDE/SATA Advice

Trying to re-install Windows.

Had my O/C BIOS profiles working before i booted up with the DVD, They included AHCI, Somehow i have managed to install Windows in IDE mode.

Attempted to Re-install ( ) again tonight but when i select AHCI and reboot it hangs on this screen :

The DVD drive worked in AHCI fine before, Why is it hanging ?

I can only get back into BIOS setup by clearing CMOS.

Spec in sig, I have two Hard drives also used for storage.

Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 Mainboard.

whats plugged into the controller, the dvd and both hard drives?

cant really tell if its handing after the dvd, or before the hard drive.
have u tryed unpluging the dvd and seeing if it gets any further ?

it could be a problem with one of the hard drives, and its having trouble detecting them, so its stuck trying to search.

i've had something simlar happen to me when an old hard drive was on the way out
