IDE to SATA (DVD-RW)

Should work fine, just check the power requirements of the dvd-rw vs the adapter. Don't know if u will be able to boot with the device though. How much u paying for the adapter cos OCUK has this for £28 incl

£7 for the adapter, ideally i need a silver drive and dont really trust samsung anymore as i have had a lot of bad products from them

Most CD/DVD devices will be fine via an IDE to SATA converter.
Just make sure that the SATA controller you are connecting to supports optical drives.
Early SATA controllers didn't.
Also I'd advise you run the SATA controller in legacy rather than AHCI mode when optical drives are involved.

If u can get a refund id consider the DS3 or DS4 as replacements. Both good solid boards, depending on what features u looking for
yeah well i could go for a the DS3/DS4 but my case is MATX but they wll fit with a lot of modding, i am so confused as to what to do now, should i rma it or not

mATX case...oh. Well its gonna cost extra then for a new case. I wouldn't try moddifying a mATX...only gonna lead to hassles later. If there is something wrong then yes I'd RMA now. Waiting is just not sensible at all.
