ideal bios settings?

Ok so obviously every cpu is different, but what would you guys recommend as the best STABLE bios settings for my setup to reach 3.0ghz?

i.e. fsb settings, cpu voltage, ddr2 voltage etc.

Initially thought I had it stable at 3.2ghz with just an fsb hike to 273 on the 11x multiplier, but after running tf2 for more than an hour last night my comp voluntarily rebooted itself (no bsod) and reverted to the standard bios settings - which i'm not complaining about, it sure as hell beats manually clearing the cmos. :p

Feel free to point out anything nooby in the above paragraph. It all helps on my path to l33tness. :D

Thanks :)

at a guess:

291 * 11
vcore 1.4 (remember to check TEMPS!)
(maybe) fsb +0.1 voltage but should be ok without
pci-e bus locked to 100 (from auto)
use the highest memory divider that leaves your memory under 400mhz (can try for more Mhz here once everything else is stable)

Check what voltage your RAM is meant to have and set it manually.

EDIT:

Just re read your post.

To me it sounds like it might be overheating.

Whats your temps like?

Hasn't so far exceeded 60, highest it went on prime95 was 58, and that was 25 minutes in. Read that post and took out my arctic cooler, reseated it and ran the suggested bios settings again, no joy. Prime95 ran for about 18 minutes and it conked out. No bsod, just an auto-reboot and the mobo reverted to safety defaults.

Two things:

Ram or vcore.

Up the vcore and i bet you it won't restart. When i drop my vcore, it'll flash a blue error screen, then restart.

By the way, make sure your RAM is manually set to 4-4-4-12 and 2.1v, it's same as mine i think. It doesn't overclock well like reviews seem to state, 830mhz is best i can get out of it.

Probably the ram, will report when i get home (at college now).

See, i thought the corsair (you do have the same stuff) was just the same as the dominator memory but with a silver heatsink? It certainly looks like the same stuff on paper, similar timings and voltage parameters. tis odd.

How much would you suggest I increase the vcore? Don't particularly want to fry my cpu and its at 1.42 already...

Yep. Problem solved, everytime the system rebooted it would randomly reset the ram voltage to 2.038v. Knocked it up to 2.14 and gave the vcore a little more juice and its stable @3.01ghz. Ran prime last night, no errors or probs after 8 hours.

Thanks for all the help guys :)
