Hi guys,

Well the rig is finally put together and I'm just trying some OCing for the first time.

Setup:
Core 2 Duo E6400
Gigabyte DS3
Corsair Dominator DDR800 C4
Radeon X1950 Pro

Right now I'm easing things in gently, as it's all on stock cooling. Will rectify that later, for now I just wanted to see that all my hardware was good to go :)

Anyway at the mo this is my progress:

Got core bus to 350MHz (= 2.8Ghz on my E6400)
DDR Multi set to x2 (DDR700, Timings 4-4-4-12)

Voltage changes:
+0.2VDIMM (2.0V; stock on my Corsair is 2.1V, am I right? But I'm not at DDR800 speeds yet so I figure I don't need it)

Anyway I've got Orthos on in the background and TAT monitoring it. My core temperature readings are at 57-58C. Is this okay? What figures are a "good" range? Should I throttle things down for now and wait until I put on an aftermarket HSF?

Also, are there any good tools for monitoring northbridge temperatures?

Many thanks,
Orison

if that is on full load and as soon as u stay under 60 C ** fine realy! If u are running it on stock cooler u better run orthus for 6-8 hours to make sure temps wont go higher that 58, i predict they could reach 70 , so check it out !
