Ideas for first job?

Ideally i want to work in something IT based, but im trying to think of jobs that i can do without previous experience, such as IT Help Desk perhaps.

Any other jobs you can think of that i could apply for that dont always need previous experience?

i'm having trouble getting in to IT even with "quallifications" as experance matters!, hope ya find something
 
Yeah I would say that if you do a CompTIA A+ course while working in a call centre then by the time you have your A+ qualification you will be all set to get into a IT Helpdesk position.

Not really. Most companies look for official CompTIA, Microsoft or Cisco qualifications these days in IT.

I own a computer training centre in Coventry and we get people with IT degree's coming in to do MCSA or MCSE etc because they can't get a job - and there's supposed to be a shortage of skilled workers in IT!!!

Or just try to ring lots of small local companies and ask if they are looking for junior IT helpdesk staff. I got my first IT job by ringing hundreds of companies until a couple eventually agreed to give me an interview. 3 interviews, 1 offer, got the job :)

Yeah may have to do this, or any company that might need IT help or something.
 
My first job was shelf stacking in Texas Homebase. Those were the days.

In my local newspaper last night were at least two IT helpdesk jobs that needed only "experience with Windows operating systems and technical ability" or something to that effect. Pay wasn't bad either for what it entails.
 
Yeah might ring up about a few IT tech ones.

Theres one 'Part Time Telesales Exec' that is literally 2 mins away, but not sure on pay, it says "Experience required, but not essential as full training will be given". May give them a punt.
 
What online things should i be looking at? So far ive signed up for reed.co.uk and sent off a few there. Any other better ones?
 
do 1 year on 1st line tech support, stick that on your CV and then see what becomes available, most of the time a second line job is the natuural progression and usually has "decent pay" first line is just a churn. i did this with no formal IT qualifications, then became the manager of the helpdesk did that for a year then my ex boss pulled me to his new company for a considerably massive amount of money that i just couldnt refuse! I got lucky but hey it could happen depends how good you are....me im just friggin awesome! :D sorry ill shut up now!:p

Thats what im trying to get, not many open around me though!

Thinking about going a few temp/part time things, get that on my CV.
