I've not been keeping up with hardware recently but I'm planning on building a new system in a few weeks and wondered what you guys would recommend.

Primarily the system will be used mostly for gaming so that's something to take into consideration (I have a 20' widescreen monitor so I play at the highest res I can).

The budget is £800 (ish, I can go over a bit) and it doesn't need to include a monitor, keyboard or mouse.

Any suggestions are much appreciated, thank guys!

It's literally just the 'box' that needs to be specced up so no OS is needed, and I've overclocked every system I've owned but I don't mind if it's very 'overclockable' or not really. Just the best system that can be had for around £800.

Thanks.

Both of those specs look the business and I'm certainly not averse to paying an extra £50 for the soundcard as I do like good quality sound.

Needless to say unless someone comes up with something better I'll definitely be going with one of your two specs, you've been a terrific help.
