Okay, so to cut a long story short I switched from ADSL to Fiber optic broadband through TalkTalk (Yes, please don't judge). Anyway I received their new "Super Modem" which is beginning to perform poorly.

It has 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands with 3 devices on the 5GHz band and 2 on the 2.4 GHz bands. All the Ethernet ports are filled and it has been fine for a month.

And then we reach now where it stops working every now and then without reason and requires a reboot.

So I ask you people how you have your network setup. I was wondering if I should get a stand alone modem and router but if so which one as I have tried TP-Link when I was on ADSL but I wasn't impressed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D:D

Strange that, given everyone seems to be raving how good the new router from TalkTalk is for an ISP provided one.

For me, I know it's an additional device, but the best setup is a BTOR modem (preferably the HG612 with unlocked firmware) and a decent Asus router or just go with a Billion jobby.

Well to be honest I wanted their old HG612 modem so I could use my own router but they sent me this one which is terrible.

I have no idea how people can like it, maybe I got a dud one :(
