Ideas for next read

Hi all,

I have just managed to finish the Discworld series and all other books by Sir Terry Pratchett, and i am after ideas on what to read next?
It's a tall order finding anyone that writes close to Pratchett but i am open to suggestions.
Also is their any series of books out there that is set in its own universe e.g. the Discworld series, one of the best things about that was the numerous books all connected together in its own world.

I have read the Lord of the Rings, Stephen Kings Dark Tower collection and Hitchhikers.

Decided to order All systems red by Martha Wells in the end, see how i go with the first one.
