Hey all,

So, I just had my 6 month watercooling cleanup, and was wondering what other peoples opinion as to I should work towards for my next upgrade. Here's my rig:

CPU: Intel Xeon W3520 @ 4.1GHz (watercooled)
RAM: 6GB Tri channel DDR3
GFX: GTX260 (Overclocked)
HDD: Crucial C300 128GB (SATAIII)

I'm thinking... graphics card?

Regards,
Chris

Thanks for the replies!

I had debated on getting another SSD - my motherboard doesn't support SATAIII, it goes through an expansion card, which doesn't support RAID, so, getting a new one is an option.

I would like a new graphics card, is the case still unless you have a huge monitor, then SLI doesn't see much gain?
Budget is... well, I haven't got a set budget as such. I got the GTX260 because it was the best bang for buck card at the time, and has lasted me years. I was hoping there was a similar good value card out there?

Cheers,
Chris

If you don't have SATAIII you won't really gain from a new SSD. Your one seems good.

SLI only really shines when at high resolutions, 1200p or higher. 3 Screens is where its used most.

Theres a lot of bang-for-buck cards out at the moment. Around £200 is the 7850 (simular to the 6950) and OC's like a beast. At that price range, its a winner.

around £300 - The 7950 and Gtx 670, The GTX670 has the edge but not by far, both great cards for the money.

£400 - GTX 670 4GB - GTX 680 2GB. Not much between the GTX 670 and GTX 680, as an OCed 670 can match/beat a stock 680. VRAM is a factor, 2GB seems to be the minimum if buying a new card. 4GB will see you running it for a LONG while. :)

£100 - HD 6850.
£200 - HD 7850.
£300 - GTX 670.
££££ - GTX 680.

Thanks for the suggestions guys,

I think a new GPU is defiantly the way to go! I'll keep you updated with which one I go for, I prefer nVidia (no reason, I've just always used them). I'll see how far my budget can stretch :P
