Good hello!

I've finally figured out where I want my chiminea to go but it is rather a patchy section of land and I could do with some help figuring out what to do with it. I'm usually quite creative with this sort of thing (read: controlling!) but admittedly, I am stumped. I know we have some quite clever chaps here so I would like to throw it open for ideas.

Here's the section in question, it has a sort of natural archway where the hedge has decided it'd be spiffing not to grow any leaves (stupid hedge):

And how that section fits in with that part of the garden:

Apologies for the terrible phone snaps. I have seating already and don't want anything too complex, but, as you can see, it needs some love. I was thinking about some sort of trellis archway or something. The cheaper and simpler the better as the place is being torn down in a couple of years so there would be no point in whacking in anything amazeballs, sadly. Anyway, thanks for reading and please fire away!

I would put down some form of aggregate in a half circle shape leading from the side of the bare hedge. Shingle would be the cheapest option but in my opinion spending a little more on a slate or pebble stone would give a much nicer look and feel.
Also where the shingle would meet the lawn it should be divided with a single tier brick wall(?) so it fits flush with the top of the soil.
If you want to cover the bare hedge then I'd put a wooden trough down with a trellis attached to it. Plant wise Wisteria grows well with minimal attention needed or look for a Passiflora(passion flower) as they look stunning when in flower.
