Ideas - need to find an IT Technician to work 1 or 2 days a week

Hi guys,

We require an IT Technician to work innitially 1 day a week, and maybe 2 days a week after a few months. This is for our expanding IT services company.

Anyone have any ideas on where we should be looking? Don't want to pay over the odds by using an agency though. Was looking at about £10ph for someone who can do desktop support and maybe some basic windows server stuff.

Is this to assist your own business ? or to fix external problems?

Cause that would narrow it down slightly

Contracter perhaps?

Although I doubt they would work for £10ph.

they are bound to know about a disabled IT bod

who might not be able to manage a whole week,
or just want someone to give them a chance for that matter...

upwards of £20/30ph atleast i woould imagine. depends on the location

I did work for minimun wage doing that... £4.50 ish

Did the same job as someone else.. and was better than him and he got paid twice my pay.

We are talking about Oxford too. not cheap but i really needed a job!

Shame, i have moved to a job im comfortable now

my mate was doing that job for a company in Northants ( basic hardware break . fix etc ) and was getting £17 ph

im working in the wrong company (goes out and looks for a new job

it might be because i had naff all experience when i started and they havn't noticed my ability yet

SW London/Middlesex/Surrey.

Most of clients are schools around Richmond Upon Thames.

I work around those figures, usually settle inbetween. I quote for the job as apposed to invoice at the end an hourly rate though.

if your in london then £20/30ph is low. I dont think you would get an agency guy in for less than £300-350p/day down there.

Im in the North East here and they charge £18p/h

I go to college... trust me don't try and find somone from there! :eek:

I wouldn't mind £10 an hour.. concidering I get nothing atm
