I'm moving down there in about 4 weeks to work in Piccadilly, but I have no idea on where to start looking to live. I will literally be working just off piccadilly circus, and so will need to be close to the piccadilly line, or within one change of it and live fairly close to it as I will be walking to *** tube station.

Where would people reccommend looking? North east london etc....?

Had a quick look at the maps and the best lines to live next to seem to be either piccadilly or central line, so what areas on those lines are nice?

Thanks for any help, I have no idea where to start looking!

**edited to include some more info from below**

Looking to spend arounds a total of £700 p/m for a 2 bed flat to share with one other person, could push to £800 p/m BUT it would have to be very nice and pretty close to allow for lower travelling costs.

Cheers for all the suggestions so far. Looking to spend £700 p/m for a 2 bed flat to share with one other person, could push to £800 p/m BUT it would have to be very nice and pretty close to allow for lower travelling costs.

Well I've just been talking to the friend that I might be moving in with who has been looking for a while and he mentioned clapham, borough, oval or maybe elephant and castle (what a stupid name!) as he wants to live south due to where he is working.

Are any of those places affordable with the above budget?

As for a bus route, it's bad enough that I'm having to sell my car to use the tube, but I couldn't bring myself to have to use the bus everyday, it would kill my soul!

Ok, from what people have said on here, what I have heard from other people, and where I was thinking of going/where my friend was thinking, the overall concensus would seem to be

- Finchly if we want to go north

- Clapham if we want to go south

Agree/disagree?

I would also try avoid having to use the Northern Line as its by far the worse tube line in London.

That's going to be impossible though as the friend who I work with works jsut off one of the stations on the northern line, that's why it need to be near there really.

in tally-ho, there's a new stylish block of apartments/flats (not sure which)
right on the high road, literally above an Arts centre (in case you're "cultured")

might be cool? want photos?

Yeh that'd be cool!

I've jut been looking through all the estate agents sites and there seems to be more available in clapham for what we're looking to spend, should prob go down and scour the estate agents in person, but it's just narrowing the areas down to go and visit so we're not aimlessly walking around for ever!
