Hey guys I wonder if anyone has a little idea for how to fix this without buying a full new Cat..

This is a picture of the Catalytic Converter fitted to my car..

On the right hand side of the pic you can see the Cat has a flaired end. This flared end butts up to a rounded part on the centre pipe on my Exhaust.

On mine this flared bit has rotted into dust and broken away completely. So Im left with a centre pipe unable to attach to this Cat pipe.

Ive took a picture but its not too great.

How would you go about sealing them together?

Ive found this online which looks like it might work. Is this what you would do?

Sorry to ask, im pretty lame with Motors :)

Stop being so ***** and fix it properly.
Scrap yard part!

To be honest I plan on taking it to nete.co.uk at the end of the month and getting it all fixed properly as its quite corroded, but its undriveable in its current state so if I can fix it cheap for now I will.

Ive emailed them for a quote which seemed reasonable but like I say, until then I wanna keep it ticking over.

Anyone done similar?

Could try taking it to MT (not MT but em can't remember the name of the section). But I toke my 182 up there when the cat fell off and they got it back on.

Mine was much simpler as the bolts had just corroded. But they will fix it for you as a job on the side. Just remember the biscuits (I gave him £20 but he never asked for anything).

I would mate but the car is down in South shields so I can't get someone at work to help out :(

I think ill just get the same bits and pieces that forum guy did and give it a go. Gonna have to get my car over a high kerb or something too cos I don't have Axel stands lol. Looks like I have a bodge project on Saturday !

You want to bodge it? Ok.

You need some rice pudding tins (the tall ones), some jubilee clips and exhaust assembly paste. Cut the top and bottom off the tins, slice them down the side and wrap round the pipes. Plenty of paste and the jubilee clips hold it all together.

Been there done that :p
