Hello, we recently moved to a new house and I noticed that the door lock seems simple, the landlord said he couldn’t find alternatives due to the door measurements…

Hopefully someone can help me identify the door lock and suggest a replacement.

Note that I’m not sure what should I measure in order to understand what alternatives I can have here.

What are you hoping to change? If it's to have new locks and invalidate oldmkeys, you just change the cylinder/barrel which is the part the key goes in. Can be had anywhere from £10 (cheap), to £25 (1 star Euro lock) and beyond for snap proof etc.

Key dimensions are the overall length and length from face to lever, on each side.

Not seeing any problems apart from you been paranoid...
I’m paranoid since I forgot my key from the inside and couldn’t open the door, hence invited a locksmith, which opened the door in 5 seconds with a small pin and told me that this is a jock of a lock and will be an issue with content insurance companies…and since the cylinder is far from standard it’s indeed hard to find suitable alternatives (he is still searching for me).

i work at a Window and door Company i can ask one of the Engineers when they come back if you like.

The "lock" or the cylinder where the key goes?

If the latter, you just unscrew one screw and you can change the barrel.

It's a "FUHR" lock - https://www.fuhr.de/en/

Find the one which matches the dimensions.

The cylinder itself just looks like a standard Euro Cylinder (at least from the side) - undo one of the screws under the bolt (probably the torx head one) and it should just slide out - measure the length (make sure you get the inside and outside the correct way round), and order a replacement (ideally a 3 star - Ultion are well regarded).

Slide back in, replace screw. Done.

When you say he opened it "with a small pin", did he pick the lock cylinder itself, or bypass it completely? If the former, then replacing the cylinder should be good enough. If the latter then you probably want to replace the lock - looks like a UPVC door, so should be able to fit a multi-point locking system (these are pretty standard - just a matter of finding the correct size)

Would be wonderful as I need this info as well for the content insurance company and in order to make a good argument with my landlord to replace the lock system.

Thanks!

Then we need to see that bit surely ?
As mentioned just pop it out, measure the dimensions and get a new one from a decent brand if that's what you're after, dead easy :)
