Hi,
This is just a quick check to make sure i haven't overlooked anything as its been a long time since i've had to do any PC diagnostics. I have put together a 2nd hand s939 system which was running ok (with very light use for a few months), but is now freezing sporadically.
Spec:
Mobo: asus AV8-VM SE (onboard gfx)
CPU: Athlon x2 64 +4200 manchester (not overclocked), under a freezerpro
RAM: generic PC2700 1GB
GPU: onboard / asus 6600 128MB silenced version
PSU: FSP 300W / seasonic 380W
HDD: can't remember
Running two instances of SP2004 CPU intensive check causes the computer to freeze from anything between a couple of seconds to several hours.
Computer will freeze during normal running also.
Memtest86+ passed for 10hrs with no errors
I've tried two difference PSUs, and also removing the nvidia 6600 and using the onboard gpu.
Does this sound like a CPU problem, or could it be something else?
Temps are not rising above 50*C for the cores or any other part (except the 6600 was rising to 70*C when running Furmark)
Cheers
