Got a challenge for you here guys, and the descripton is very vague.

Im pretty sure this was an Amiga game, although it may have been Commodore 64. Basically you were a bloke that 'skipped' planets by completing challenges in a sci fi style (i dont think the planets were real). Other than that all i can recall is that the game box was purple.

The title is bugging me, but i know for a fact their isnt a lot to go on. Anyone got any ideas at all.

Yeah sounds very much like captain blood to me. Did you have to fly down 3d like wireframed "valleys" at some point? if so then it WAS captain blood.

Purple Saturn Day?

released on 8 and 16 bit formats?

Yeah i did have better graphics than that. It was more of a puzzle game than anything, i dont recall any shooting at all.

Cheers for the suggestions.

yes The ST and Amiga versions looked much better, if you remember one of the games was a kind of circuitboard with open or closed gates, you controlled a strange ball which you fired down to open or close the gates!

it was kind of a futuristic mental olympics type affair :)

It really does sound like the game you're talking about!
