Seems I have been sharing my bed with the following

whatthehell.jpg

Awoke to spot a bug on my sheets, after further investigation it would seem my bed inside around the fabric/wood frame has quite a lot of whatever the hell these things are. So pulled out some stuffing with one on it and took a photo. This one seems dead though as the top has sort of pulled apart when I poke it with a knife.

Anyone hazard a guess as to what it is? Size wise around 4mm long. Sort of looks like some bedbugs, which I really hope it isn't.

Not looking forward to going to bed tonight :(

Pretty sure that's a carpet beetle larva. They usually crop up in places that haven't been vacuumed in generations ;).

I think you might be right as the bug I saw looked like the carpet beetle after it err hatches I guess. And yes I hardly never vaccume inside the bed frame usually just do the mattress.

Tomorrow I shall be bed shopping.

Basicly the OP wees the bed and they like to live in it :)

Be honest your jealous as they chose me :p

CARPET BEETLE that is the larvae

Yup seems so, although from the bug I saw seems to be the "Varied carpet beetle". Sort of feel bad that I never though to hoover inside the bed frame, and how long have I've been living with them :(

Oh well... Tomorrow I am taking the carpet up, along with the bed and curtains then taken to the dump. Followed by a good dusting of Boric Acid which from reading seems to help kill them off. Just glad it wasn't bed bugs which seem worse to get rid of.
