cheers. not sure what the max temp intel(R)Celeron D run @ but when i try to convert avi files to dvd formate it raise to 67c i guess this is abit hot. the pc itself was bought from PCWorld not custom made. should i clean the thermal paste and reaply with better one such as AS5?

On my Ultra-D temp 1 is my CPU temp (it's easy to tell which one the CPU is at it's the one in minus figures ;)). However, on my old motherboard it was temp 3, so I would imagine it changes from board to board.

My celeron 2.66ghz used to run very hot as well with the stock cooler, about 70degrees under load! I changed the cooler for an artic cooling freezer 4 (or 7 if you have s775) and the load temp went down to 50 degrees. a big improvement!
