Hi All,
I've got a bit of a quandary currently I'm looking for some help with.
I have a hosting package with eukhost, which has some IMAP email accounts being used but due to a forgotten password at some point, we've had to change the password on my stepson's account and it's now causing a problem.
We seem to have a rogue device which still has the old password in and it keeps causing eukhost to block our IP for all the accounts and domain as it's repeatedly attempting to log in with the wrong details and their firewall is blocking our IP as a result after several attempts.
I've checked his PC, Laptop, Phone and old tablet for various software that could be accessing it such as Outlook, Windows Mail, Android apps etc. and the only device which has it added that I can see is his phone. I did delete the account and re-add it with the correct details just in case, and that logs in fine when the IP is either cleared temporarily by eukhost or out and about on another network/5G so I'm stumped! I've asked eukhost for guidance but they can only see the IP not the device (understandable) but they did confirm which email account is causing the issue and it's definitely his every time.
Is there anything I can stick on my PC or Netgear router (via DNS maybe) that will allow me to see by device/MAC address which is trying to access the email account and causing it to block as a result?
I did ask them to whitelist the IP but as it's a Virgin Dynamic IP, they don't want to do it for security reasons and I'd rather try and fix the issue tbh.
