Really getting sick of this, not only has a member of the family put my address down for his bad debt, and I don’t know where he is, so keep getting all his debt collection agency letters, my Barclaycard was scammed for its entire limit, now a company called quickquid.co.uk claim I’ve got an outstanding loan and I’ve not paid.

I’ve called the police, this was this morning to get a crime reference number, who have not given me this yet, told they’d call me back, I’ve also had to fill out loads of credit forms to get my credit files, at a cost of £2 each…

I’m a honest guy, with no debt yet that doesn’t mean I still don’t have to deal with debt collections, or folks using my details to obtain money that isn’t theirs..

I’m talking with CIFAS to get my registration for fraud protection, and hopefully, when I get my crime number, I’ll pass that to quickquid.co.uk and they can chase someone else for their money….

I suspect, the same family member is screwing around with my name.. We have the same initials, and he knows my date of birth and details etc…. He never paid his debts, and passed his address as mine, and beat the living daylights out of my mum, so I prosecuted and he fled..

My punishment for sticking up for someone I love, horrid man..!! Can't help think he's the one using my name to get credit.... Oh well, looks like I've got some work to do, clearing my name, and sorting this mess out..

And you have no idea where he is in the world? I would try and find him and kick the living daylights out of him!

Yep, no idea where he went but I'm going to speak with the police, then see what my options are as this can't continue... Its simply not fair to burden this, I'm ashamed of such a family member but you can't choose your family can you?

Wish you could...

Sorry to hear this but keep up with the way you are acting. Following all the correct procedures will eventually get this resolved. Good Luck.

He sounds like the absolute dregs. I can only hope he gets what's coming to him, and your way out of the situation is as hassle free as it can be.

I would hate that to happen to me

Good luck i hope you get it sorted out, he will be found and get whats coming to him.

WEll hopefully the police will be helpful and get them to tell you and help you contact banks that the debt is with. There must be someone in their fraud's department who can with you maybe there to talk with him, contact various bank contacts who deal with it on their side and identify and shut down any accounts in your name you haven't opened and hopefully track down transactions as with any old fraud at some point he'll no doubt order something on the net to be delivered somewhere to track him down.

If he's signed up for loans, even if he's opened accounts registered to your address said banks can find out which branch they were opened at(if not your local one) but at least find out where the money was/is being withdrawn from.

Pain in the crapper I guess, I'd say maybe get in contact with your actual banks/cc companys for your real accounts and let them know someone is trying to open stuff up. Have them place a hold on any new cards, any new accounts being opened to limit any more chances he has. Incase he gets a hold of CC info somehow, put a limit you can cope with on your account and it may be ackward, but maybe have them make all transactions need prior authorisation. So before you buy anything like a TV or whatever you'd have to phone up to approve it.

has he ever lived where you currently live? or your mum have spare keys for your place, maybe change locks incase he's getting in to either place while you're out and nicking personal info.

It sounds like a horrible thing to happen at all, but when family will do this to you I can imagine it would be horrible. AT the end of the day he's brought it all down on himself and frankly if you're getting screwed don't hesitate to go all out, don't go easy on people like that and give them a second chance as they'll just screw you again.

Good Luck anyway.

Cheers everyone... They always say they get what's coming to them... I've now got the name and telephone number of a Police Officer, he seems quite nice and understanding, and Ive got a ref number now.

So, time to start searching and seeing what I can find out.... I know its not nice but Ill sort this. I used to live with him years ago, then I moved and gave my address to my mum, guess its easy to work out its my own dad..!! Obvously, he got my address from my mum's address book, even though it wasn't meant to be given, as my mum was leaving him....

He blamed me for the demise of his marriage, not my fault, he beat her up, that's why mum left.... I only helped her find a nice new flat to live in and reported the abuse to the police, ever since then he's launched a hate campaign against me....

Guess I should have moved, but why should I give up my home and be victimised via debt collection agencies, or have to prove who I am because someone thinks he can use my name..??

Police reckon they can find him, and help put a stop to this. He'll be round this evening, yep, even offered to drive round, I said I'd call in the police station tomorrow.... I do feel relieved that someone is going to try and help me....

Anyhow, I drivel on, just venting a frustration, its not good to bottle everything up inside, it gives you negativities in your thoughts...
