Hi all

I've just aquired an Ideq 200n from a friend. The pc used to work fine. It now won't turn on half the time :( If you apply power the light is green (power) without having pressed any power buttons and it won't fire up. AFAIK power light is orange then goes green when system turned on normally.

However I managed earlier to get it to boot several times after taking the power connector block (power sw, hdd light etc) off and wiggling it around. The unit then turned on and off fine and ran long enough for me to reinstall windows.

I've since taken the power lead out and put it back in my pc and its doing the same again. Apply power = green power light and won't turn on.

Any ideas really appreciated?

have you added some think new to the system its self like a gfx card. it sounds like 1 or 2 things that could be the problem.

it could be that your over loading the PSU. or it could be that its a hardware problem with 1 of the devices in the system.

you could also try reseting the bios to see if that fixes the problem.

It works when you remove the mobo connectors (ie hdd light reset switch etc) which is as a block on that unit. I don't understand it at all myself :| No hardware has been changed since it worked fine about a year ago.

I've now realised it works when you plug it into the mains and leave it for a random period of time. It won't however, start straight away.
