So I've just bought a couple of techs second hand and wanted to ID them.
I'm living in Canada and was confused to find that one of the tables is a 1200, even though it's black. The guy who was selling them told me that it's a special US version, but it seems a bit fishy.
The serial numbers for both tables are:
SL-1200MK2 - KMC
GE9BX19439
SL-1210MK2 - PC
GE7LV86275
Looking at the tech 12's wikipedia article, I can determine that the first table was manufactured in February 1999, destined for Canada and the second table was manufactured in December 1997, destined for 'European Audio Club'.
First of all, is it possible that first table is an SL1200, like it says, even though it's black?
Secondly, what the heck is 'European Audio Club'? and if it was destined for Europe, why is it in Canada?
Thanks for any insight.
