I'm trying to get the hang of driving without the braking line, but it's really hard and I always overshoot on the corners.

Some of the tracks have signs with numbers on them at the side of the road as you approach bends. What do they mean? I can't figure out whether it's distance to the bend, or the speed you ought to be going to make it round the bend without taking the scenic 20mph route that I usually end up on.

100yards to bend 75yards to bend 50 yards to bend. Use them to set a breaking point/marker.

Remember to sweep through the bend to take the smoothest line & keep in your head the Legendary Jim Clarkes advice, Slow in fast out. ;)

The trick is, you need to use any 'marker' you can find to help with braking points..

These will change depending on car etc, as some cars will be going much faster then others..

Sometimes there are nice 'yard' markers and through trial and error, you can use those to judge exactly where to brake, sometimes it's shadows accross the track, or a dark texture, or a bit of track furniture..

and I agree with Malc, going in too hot is worse then going in slow!

I liked on Forza 2 where you had the balancing bit on the side of the screen. Pretty much if you get it near enough in the centre you could go round the corner.
