I don't normally post news stuff up, but this cheered me up when I read it in my email this morning. The Sun (I know, but it's a good story) reports that four SAS soldiers were on overnight exercises in Manchester recently when they noticed some idiots trying van doors on the estate.

Predictably, the morons got to the SAS van and pried the door... and got "a bit of a slap" for their trouble... :o :D

They won't be doing that again in a hurry.

It would have been unfortunate if one of the SAS soldiers had been so surprised that he accidentally discharged a firearm in one of their faces.

No, in the struggle that ensued the thief accidently discharged a weapon into his own kneecaps. :(

Not running away now *****!;)

Who dares loses in this case it seems. :D

Definitely a Thatcham approved immobiliser with a few Regiment fellas in the back in full knack mode.

Indeed! I'd say a few bricks were... laid... that night!

LOL The thing that makes me laugh is those SAS guys must have been quietly giggling to themselves once the door started making noises. The fact two stayed in the van (LOLing very hard I'd imagine) while the other two chased after the crooks and gave them an education creased me up.

Story could be completely fabricated.
Wosrt, the Sun sticks 3 poses unrelated pictures beside such a story.
What awful reporting.

I wonder what actual lesson the creeps got taught?
Spreadeagled and held at gunpoint for a few minutes before the team withdrew?
Beaten?
Don't state it, yet it aparently quotes one of the team.

I could probably imagine them willing to open it up! Of course, they are lucky that they weren't on a proper op, as they probably would have knocked them out and tied them up in the van!

Open the van door, hear the cocking of 4 machine guns and 4 blokes in balaclavas..... I bet they would have needed a change of underwer

I remember hearing almost the exact same story but it had MI5/Plod Counter Terrorism on a stake out in the Van not the SAS, this was over 10 Years ago, so just the usual made up 'story' from 'The Sun' as usual tbh.

"They were trying their luck on every van in the estate, looking for tools they could pinch"

So basically the SAS scrotes would have let them get away with theft from the other vans if they had missed theirs?
Hmm, anybody checked Snopes?
