Don't worry I'm included in the idiot list. :D

Just wondering how often as gamers have you bought a console and got rid of it because the games were rubbish? Then in about 6 month along list of great games come out for it and you then wish you hadn't sold it?

I often do that and to think If I bought a console later I could have saved a load of cash and could have got it when there was some decent games. I'm still happy with my Wii but I do wish they'd bring proper games out like more Zelda style games and a lot less of games like WiiPlay and WarioWare.

I guess I shouldn't complain games like Warioware are needed so noobs can get to grips with the Wiimote. To be honest I didn't need much help as it came naturally as I'm guessing it did for most of you guys and gals.

Nah the wii was fine at launch. Zelda, play, sports, red steel and monkey ball held me well until Warioware came out and trauma centre and excite truck are out soon :)

Plus donkey konga and all the GC games are ace :)

You can still buy excellent Gamecube games such as fifa 2007 (looking great) or download a couple of VC games. There is plenty to play with Wii to keep you busy until more Wii games arrived.

I'm hoping that SNES Zelda: A Link to the Past will be released on VC this Friday. (It is now available to US from yesterday).

cool if it is

though Im playing far too much Zelda at the mo, just finished TP, started OoT:MQ and mid-way through LoZ (NES)

Sold our first Playstation only to buy another when we found out about chipping :D (haven't chipped any of my subsequent consoles though I should add)

Got an xbox on launch day with Halo and Jet Set Radio Future and loved it. Microsoft dropped the price £100 about a month later, but they gave everyone who paid the launch price two extra games and an extra controller, which was pretty fair I thought.

Glad I waited a year for a 360 though, and won't be buying a PS3 this year.

I bought a 360 on launch day and it was the best console purchase I've ever made. It was a reasonable price and I always seem to have plenty of games to play.

Having said that, yes, waiting until the bundles/price drops come out etc is far more sensible, but then, there is something about a console at launch.

dont think ive ever bought a console in launch, well not in the lat 5years or so.

Got a 360 only a few months ago, had PS2 for a week before i was bored, still got original Playstation at home, did have SNES on launch though i think! Possibly a Megadrive but cant remember too well.
Never bought a console , sold it then wanted it back, might have to with the 360 though cos im skint!

I think the only console that i've got close to launch was the N64.

Haven't got the Wii yet, need to save my money for until I get a full time job :o Plus I don't think Zelda is that great of a game.

Bought:-
N64 - near to, Cube - launch, GBA - launch, Wii - week later, shouldve been launch

I dont mind, I love Nintendo

only 2 consoles i have had since launch (well very close!) is dreamcast and xbox360.

Dreamcast was brilliant, and i remeber not being difficult to get one, especially as imho it is still better than ps2 :(

only console I have ever bought on launch was the Wii and i'm still playing it everyday :D
Wii for the win...

PS: why is F-T-W *'d out?
