idiots guide to setting outlook up on second pc please!

hi there guys. need a guide to setting up outlook express on a secong pc. Basically have bought a laptop for work and need to use it to access the emails, but also need to leave the desktop able to access them. is this poss? i am a total novice with outlook, i just dont use it at all! :)
 
its just one pc at work so just a case of transfering the email accross. i have no idea how to set up pop3, or what it is! told ya, email idiot lol
 
will that make all the new emails go to both? so they can be accessed either on the laptop or the desktop? also will need to transfer the addresses etc over. thanks for the help mate!

Yes they will go to both.
 
It all depends on how the email is setup at your work.
Do you have an exchange server, maybe a linux box in the office, or do you "dial-in" (by ADSL modem for example) to your ISP?

I'd take a look at the account settings on the old PC first and then copy them.

If it's an exchange server then you'll be laughing as you can just leave all your mail on it and view it from there no matter what PC you use... however, you'd likely be running the full version of outlook in that case.
If it's pop, then I'd copy the settings, but change it to leave the mail on the server for 10 days before deleting it. That way you should have a chance to copy them onto both machines before they expire.

There may be an option to export your account settings, I don't know - I use the full version.

EDIT; Crap, I need to type faster!
 
Both will be able to get your emails, but once you download an email on one machine then I dont think it will download again on the other, unless there is some setting you can change to do that?

You can tell it to leave a copy on the server for X days or until the item is deleted from the inbox on your PC.
