Idle dedicated gpu power draw?

OK this may sound a little anal but my server I'd like to potentially double it up as sim racer (4690k and a gtx 670) and other than physically using a power meter to test would it draw significantly more at idle (vast majority of time monitor off and just doing plex and minor tasks) that I should be concerned about with it being on 24/7. I'm thinking it may pull an extra 10w over the onboard 4600 Intel ? . Thanks

Edit. From memory I tested the server to idle about 42w without the 670 in.

You could disable it in windows device manager, but I don't think that would reduce power draw.

Is there any concern you have about it running 24/7 other than cost?

I have 2 dedicated machines to run sim racing games and I'm seeing if I can utilise the server and potentially off load sim racing duties to it. Money isnt really the issue but it would play on my mind if the extra draw was significant over a long period per say. Trying to cut down on physical machines will help as I seem to be obsessed with them.

I have a 6600k/970 system and it draws 40-50w. I can't see yours drawing less than that.

By the way, here's 10w at 20p per KwH just so you can work out your "saving". ;)

Yeah, that's why I don't have a separate server/gaming PC. As much as there are some valid pro's to having a separate server - for me it didn't seem worth it (space as well as cost) to having separate machines.

I've never been tight .. ha! , but It seemed logical now I can put a half decent gpu in the server (in mancave/garage)and for 1080p racing on a big 48" TV it will be plenty.
I'll still be on the lookout for a bargain 970 though.....

Oh, funny you should mention that...

If I get hold of a second classy I'll be selling a G1 Gaming 970. I'll give you a shout when I put up my MM sale thread and see if you're still interested. Will probably be the tail end of next week.
