Sucess!!
I've got my idle temps down to 43c and load temps are now 60c by doing the following:
Lapping the heatsink on the cooler and mounting a 120mm fan in in front of the floppy bays inside the case and removing one of the floppy blanking plates.
I've also refitted the stock exhaust fans as they do just as good job as the Akasa fans. I've left the intake fan with an Akasa and used the stock intake fan on the floppy bay.
Here's some pics of inside my case:
Next weekend I might re-fit the blanking plate and drill some holes to make it look a little neater, but the door is always closed so not too bothered about it. The door has a big vent at the bottom where the air gets sucked in so it doesn't starve the new floppy bay fan of air when it's closed.
I'm currently at 3.2Ghz, I might see if I can push my cpu a little further now that the air flow is better. The AS5 has yet to settle in so my temps might improve a little further soon.
Thanks for all your hints and suggestions
