ive clocked my q6600 to 3.2ghz and all seems stable i'm just a little concerned about the temps:

At Idle-core:

0:40c
1:37c
2:37c
3:40c

Under prime they hit around 62c-59c-59c-62c

Is it a factor that ive only just fitted my Turniq tower with As5?

What are normal temps idle/prime?

My Q6600 is clocked at 3.3GHz with 1.325v and while idling the cores are currently at 38C, 34C, 33C and 33C.

I wouldn't worry too much about the idle temps and your load temps seem fine for air cooling! Mine hit about 50C under load but I have watercooling.. What voltage are you using to get 3.2GHz and is it the energy efficient version?

They look very similar to my load temps when running that overclock.

My idle temps seem to be sat at around 33 degrees on 2 cores and 37 degrees on the other 2. This is with a lapped q6600 and non lapped Tuniq.

1.2875v and yes energy efficient GO version

Ive read that it takes the AS5 time to work properly and give better reduction in temps, is this true? am i to expect lower temps?

Good volts for that overclock! :) I wouldn't worry too much about the temps.. They don't seem overly high too me. :)

It probably won't affect the temps that much. But if I remember correctly, it does take about 100 hours of use to bed in properly..

Thanks Street, ive just altered some settings in speedfan and now I have my temps at 38,38,35,35 idle with my turniq fan at 1350rpm and case fans around 1100rpm so quite happy with cold feet :]

I'm currently at 3.3ghz (366x9) on 1.25v (bios), 1.23v according to cpuz.

idling ~ 34/34/31/31 and load ~ 58/58/57/57

I wish i could run with a voltage that low. At the moment i have adn overclock of 3.42 and set the vcore to 1.412v in the BIOS so in CPU-Z it is running at 1.376 under Prime95 full load and it craps out after an hour on one core.
My PC also freezes in UT3 and i think it is because one of the cores is weaker than the rest and UT3 is built with dual core in mind.
After 6mins of Prime95 the cores are currently 79 79 69 70 which is a joke considering both the Tuniq and CPU has been lapped.

Not very happy :(

to get much more I have to start upping the vcore, so I'm just aiming for as high as I can get on the current voltages
